     Bill Moll grew up in central New York State.  He graduated Northeastern University (Boston) in 1983.  His first railroad position was while he was on co-op from Northeastern U with New Jersey Transit in Newark. NJ in 1980.


     He worked for the intermodal company Road-Railer as a Dispatcher in Bronx, NYC in 1984.

     Bill was employed by the New York, Susquehanna & Western Railway from 1985 until 1992.  He served as a Train Dispatcher, freight and passenger Conductor and Engineer, Operating Rules Instructor and Superintendent  of Transportation in Cooperstown, Utica and Binghamton, NY and Little Ferry, NJ.

     He then became a Train Dispatcher in Selkirk, NY for Conrail from 1992 - 1999, then for CSX in Jacksonville, FL from 2018 - 2020.

     While continuously maintaining his seniority as a CSX Train Dispatcher, Bill also worked in the following management capacities:  CSX Manager of Passenger Operations in Jacksonville (2002-2004), Terminal Trainmaster in Selkirk (2004-2005), Amtrak (on leave from CSX) Manager of Train Operations- Hudson Line in Rensselaer, NY (2012-2013)

     He retired out of the CSX Jacksonville, FL Operations Center as the #1 most senior dispatcher on the Albany Division and #3 most senior dispatcher (out of about three hundred) CSX Train Dispatchers.

     Professional memberships include the American Train Dispatchers Association (ATDA), New England Railroad Club, and the American Guild of Organists.  Past memberships include the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers (BLE Division 512), North American Operating Rules Association, and NORAC Operating Rules Committee.

     Railroad society memberships include the National Railway Historical Society, Adirondack Railway Preservation Society / Adirondack Scenic Railroad, and the Key, Lock & Lantern railroadiana collectors.
