Bill was employed by the New York, Susquehanna & Western Railway from 1985 until 1992. He served as a Train Dispatcher, freight and passenger Conductor and Engineer, Operating Rules Instructor and Superintendent of Transportation in Cooperstown, Utica and Binghamton, NY and Little Ferry, NJ.
He then became a Train Dispatcher in Selkirk, NY for Conrail from 1992 -

He retired out of the CSX Jacksonville, FL Operations Center as the #1 most senior dispatcher on the Albany Division and #3 most senior dispatcher (out of about three hundred) CSX Train Dispatchers.
Professional memberships include the American Train Dispatchers Association (ATDA), New England Railroad Club, and the American Guild of Organists. Past memberships include the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers (BLE Division 512), North American Operating Rules Association, and NORAC Operating Rules Committee.
Railroad society memberships include the National Railway Historical Society, Adirondack Railway Preservation Society / Adirondack Scenic Railroad, and the Key, Lock & Lantern railroadiana collectors.
